  3.     Thank you for using "COMt: the Telnet Modem".  
  4. Please take a few minutes to read the following information.
  5.  
  6.              ---- AUTOMATED INSTALLATION ----
  7.  
  8.     COMt comes with an automated installation utility.
  9. To use this, simply copy the distribution files to a floppy
  10. or temporary directory, then double-click on the INSTALL.EXE
  11. file from the Windows File Manager.
  12.  
  13.     Once INSTALL starts, you will be given the oppor-
  14. tunity to read the README.TXT file (this file).  Then you
  15. will be asked to choose a directory to install the COMt 
  16. files.  Enter a directory name or just press <OK> to keep
  17. the default of "c:\comt".
  18.  
  19.     INSTALL will then copy the distribution files to 
  20. the directory of your choosing, with the exception of the
  21. "bwcc.dll" file, which is always copied to the 
  22. \windows\system directory.
  23.  
  24.     Once all the files have been copied, you will be 
  25. given the opportunity to allow INSTALL to create Program
  26. Manager icons.  This is recommended.
  27.  
  28.     Once the icons are created, you will be presented
  29. with a dialog allowing you to install the "boot time
  30. driver" for COMt.  For details on what that is and whether
  31. you should install it, hit the <help> button on the dialog.
  32. You can opt to install or uninstall the driver later using 
  33. the COMt program.
  34.  
  35.     This completes the installation.  To begin using
  36. COMt, simply run COMT.EXE.  Please refer to the 
  37. MANUAL.WRI file for complete details on how to use COMt.

  39.              ---- UNINSTALL Instructions ----
  40.  
  41.     To remove COMt from your system, follow these 
  42. steps:
  43.  
  44. 1) First "unhook" COMt from your system.ini file.  This is
  45.    only necessary if you opted to use the "boot-time 
  46.    driver" for COMt.  You can unhook this driver by running
  47.    the COMT.EXE program and selecting the "File|Unload COMMT.DRV"
  48.    menu option.  Once COMt is unhooked you will need to 
  49.    restart Windows.
  50. 2) Once COMt is unhooked, simply delete the contents of the
  51.    c:\comt directory.
  52.

  54.           ---- REGISTRATION AND OTHER INFO ----
  55.  
  56.     This program is shareware.  It is not free 
  57. software.  If you obtained this copy either from a BBS or
  58. a friend, then you are using an UNREGISTERED copy.  You may
  59. run the program for an evaluation period of one month.
  60. After this time if you wish to continue using the program 
  61. you must register by filling out the Program Registration 
  62. form and sending in the Registration Fee.  This will help
  63. guarantee that the program is well supported and enhanced
  64. in the future.  The shareware copy of COMt will present a
  65. registration reminder dialog on the first usage of a Telnet
  66. port.

  69. payable by VISA, MasterCard, check/money-order, or in the
  70. SWREG forum of CompuServe.  Please see the COMT.HLP
